Thoughts on the Real Warrior

It’s not about who is the toughest guy and who can kick everyone’s ass. That is an "Ever Changing" reality. Bruce Lee is dead. The Gracies aren’t going to fight some punk just to prove they are tough. With them it’s "Put up your Bucks" or don’t waste my time.

A true master does not go out to "prove how tough he/she is. A true master has conquered that most formidable of opponents: Themselves.

How easy it is to be swaggering and tough when you are young and full of "piss and vinegar". It’s not so easy when the body begins to break down. This is when the true masters are made. Can you push beyond the pain of aching limbs and joints to keep your body as good as it can be? Can you overcome the desire to just "rest"? After all you’ve earned it. There can be no real rest until we die. The body must be continually pushed or it will atrophy. Morals and personal integrity must continue to be tested or you are worthless as a human. Are you loyal to those who have been your friend when you needed them? Do you think you are "above" someone who has slipped on a "banana peel" of life? The most we can hope for is to open ourselves to our own warrior. This is that certain something that says. "I will not go quietly into the night". I will not back down from those who would attack what is worth defending. If they are younger, stronger or tougher than I, that too will someday change for them as well. Maybe "Today is a Good Day to Die.
