Grand Master Douglas McLeod started helping people over thirty years ago, teaching seminars for free on empowerment and self-defense, then I started one of the first tax-exempt organization dedicate to helping Children, Women victims, and Seniors from crime.  Our state was being over ran with crime in Hawaii, after a Hurricane in 1992, and many people came over to Kauai supposedly to help, but many of them too advantage as we learn from the Major Hurricane Katrina a few years ago.  They came to prey on the weak, steal the money, and worse of all, prey on Children, Women, and Seniors.  The crime rate rose out of proportion, and I knew I had to do more to help stop this.  So, in 1995, I started a Company Called Street Smart System of Self-dense, Inc, a 501 c-3 tax exempt organization to help the community.

The problem I found out, when I moved back to Hawaii, the person I left in charge did not do his promises he made to me, so I came back recently and got it back on it's feet.

Also, other states would not help, because they felt a non-profit from out of state would not benefit their residents, so that is why I am now starting USNEED, in Las Vegas, Nevada, a more central location.  Once we get our standing as a non-profit, we will make it an International Organization eventually, so we can go to any state and help!

We also plan on doing much more than just crime prevention and education, but help with health issues, the environment, and other people's needs.  I feel if many of us do not start helping in many ways, mankind will suffer soon in the worse way that our nightmare could not imagine.  So, by starting USNEED, I hope others will learn by example and help, either our organization, or others, or help on their own individual methods, changing the problems, and solving them!

For more information on Street Smart System of Self-defense, Inc, please go to these sites and there is information that will give you my resume, and some of my work as well as work done by many others that I am very proud of:

For More Honest Information go to Douglas McLeod, He puts his work Resume, and Martial Arts Resume, you get certified certificates if you earn them, NOT talk, and are able to perform!  I helped Papa developed a new system of Limalama, in 1983, which he has changed.  I learned the original sets and movements, and Now Grand Master Rudy is in Charge, I was promoted in 1985 personally by Great Grand Master Tino Tuiolosega and in 1999 to an 8th Degree by Great Grand Master Tino Tuiolosega Grand Master Rudy Tuiolosega. I only teach Yen Ch'ing Tao, My system I invented and Kenpo, and Weapons, so I stay out of the politics that people cannot stop!  Even when they are asked by high ranking Limalama and by the Great Grand Master himself.  Lets show him respect!

YOU hear stories, but the what is suppose to be the truth and more knowledge and facts will help lead you to answers.  Clara Minor and Dios were students of mind, and I still have the contract today, when I sold the school to them on Mission Street.  Papa, has walked away from them, for his personal reasons, which is not my business or anyone's, which I will leave alone, because I am a man of peace, and  if any other students of mind or his, would tell the truth, and second leave him alone then if he wishes that.  He was in Hawaii in 1994 doing seminars for my school on the Island of Kauai and they were on community Television, and another one in 1993 he and I did a seminar on Maui, which was also on community Television, I was given rights by Great Grand Master Tuiolosega and his very honorable wife and my student to broadcast these shows on community Television, and  I have copies.  Lets hope people leave this man alone and his family!  However lets never forget him for the gift he gave us, without asking for a dime.  I was one of the few persons that paid him for lessons, not for rank, and I turned down very high rank in 1985, because I feel a student, instructor needs to based their knowledge on knowledge, accomplishments, good deeds, and respect all their instructors, because many of my students as well as me, would never gotten their black belt or any rank, without a good instructor encouraging them ever step of the way, especially when it gets so hard, difficult, and seems impossible to achieve your goals, but you have that one instructor and your commands learning with you giving you empowerment.

We are the lucky ones, many students that never received their black belts was not from the lack of trying but, from a bad instructor or one that it was more that they went by the way they learned through traditions, or worse, jealousy.

Yen Ch'ing Tao was not only Tracy's Kenpo (Parkers") the original style, but I was also giving them the theories and concepts from Great Grand Master Ed Parker, Sifu Wing Lam, and Finally Great Grand Master Tino Tuiolosega who use to come to my school all the time and teach classes, so they got information from many Great Grand Masters.  They also got information from Great Grand Master Yamashita, where I was studying Japanese weapons, such at the "Staff", Nunchaku", Tonfa's and seven empty sets.  I learned over 100 Katas and forms by the time I was 30, including two versions of Tiger and the Crane, one from Great Grand Master Al Tracy, and from the Hung Gar System Sifu Wing Lam.

They also received many fighting skills, from Clint Mosley, a national Champion, Ross Abrams one of the best fighters I had seen who studied with Tracy's and Joe Louis the World Kick-Boxing Champions, Boxers, Grapplers, and anyone I felt would help my students get better, because I did not have all the answers, and was not afraid of them getting knowledge I felt would help them, where other instructors, wanted to always be the top in their own school, so I brought in the top knowledge I could find to educate them, and in our new school, it will be the same, but this time, each guest Instructor has to be a high ranking Master, except in Kids Classes, because I have seen lower ranks really become "Great Children" instructors, it takes lots of patience, and skills to teach a child with positive methods so that they want to come back, in Hawaii, we had monthly Kids Day, it was Great, they would learn all types of things, make movies, learn how to do stunts, and I would bring in special guests, where they were amazed with such talented masters, especially someone who was in their 70's and 60's.  One thing about Martial Arts, YOU get better with age, if you had good instructors, and I cannot complain, nor would I about any one who gave me knowledge from their heart, and they were truthful, honorable, and cared!

Teaching anything is difficult, teaching martial arts is probably the most difficult subject to teach on this planet, it evolves so much, trust, honesty, hard workouts, more hard workouts, learning out the mind is your main source of your power, not your physical being, and lots of private practice that you must learn to do on your own, self-discipline, you learn discipline and rules in the school, and a good instructor can only be your guide.  But when you but your first black belt on, it is one of the most important and empowering events in your life, and will remember it until the day you die.
